Kiminini Combined FC, also known as Bazuu, is gearing up for a new season with an ambitious goal of earning promotion to the National Super League (NSL). After a successful playoff campaign where they triumphed 2-0 over GFE 105 FC, the club secured their spot in the Football Kenya Federation (FKF) Division One, marking a significant milestone in their journey to the top tier.
To bolster their squad for the challenges of the third tier, Kiminini Combined FC has signed 11 new players ahead of the season. The recruitment drive has been a mix of experienced professionals and promising young talent, ensuring the team is well-equipped to compete at the higher level.
Coach Peter Wanyama, who led Solidarity Boys to a Kenya Secondary Schools Sports Association boys’ national football title, is confident the new signings will provide the necessary firepower for Bazuu’s bid for NSL promotion. Among the notable signings are midfielder Jonathan Lodaket, forward Brian Masinde, and striker Levy Kipsang, all joining from fourth-tier clubs. The club has also secured experienced defenders like Kefa Ogato and Evans Egesa Sande, along with midfielders Immanuel Ekisa and Kelvin Efumbi, further solidifying their squad.
“The plan is to grace the NSL next season, and we have carefully selected players who will have an immediate impact,” Wanyama stated. “The signings blend youthful energy with experience, and we believe that with the right coaching and team chemistry, promotion is within reach.”
In preparation for the new season, Kiminini Combined FC has organized two pre-season friendly matches, scheduled to take place at the Ndura Sports Complex in Kitale. They will face off against Ndura Academy and fourth-tier Wisa FC, providing an opportunity for the team to gel and refine their strategies before the competitive fixtures begin.
With a well-rounded squad, a clear vision, and experienced leadership, Kiminini Combined FC is poised to make a strong push for the NSL, aiming to establish themselves as a force to be reckoned with in Kenyan football. As the season approaches, all eyes will be on Bazuu as they aim to achieve their lofty goal of reaching the top tier and representing Kiminini with pride.
